Malta,
Where history and azure horizons collide

The Maltese Islands consist of Malta, Gozo, Comino and two other uninhabited islands. They are situated in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea 93 km from Sicily and 290 km from North Africa. An English-speaking country boasting over 7,000 years of history and 300 days of sun, Malta has got something for everyone.

Malta
  • Valetta

    Valetta
    A stroll through time

Valletta, Malta’s capital was named after its founder, the respected Grand Master of the Order of St. John, Jean Parisot de la Valette. The city is busy, yet retains a timeless atmosphere. The grid of narrow streets boasts some of Europe’s finest art works, churches and palaces.

Hosting a vast cultural programme, walking around Valletta you’ll come across an intriguing historical site around every corner: votive statues, niches, fountains and coats of arms high up on parapets. Narrow side streets are full of tiny quaint shops and cafés, while Valletta’s main streets are lined with larger international branded shops for fashion, music, jewelry and much more.

  • Mdina

    Mdina
Old capital city as rare gem

Mdina, also called the Silent City, is surrounded by fortified bastion walls and sits on top of one of the highest hills of Malta. There’s a mythical sense to the city when you enter it and you can almost taste the history as you walk its streets. At its heart, you’ll find the imposing St. Paul’s Cathedral and its small square in front, while a few chapels are open to admire to the public in a few of the smaller streets. The main entrance and other squares were used to film scenes from the popular TV series Game of Thrones.

  • Gozo

    Gozo
    Sister island

Though separated from mainland Malta by a mere 5km stretch of sea (25 minutes by ferry) Gozo is distinctly different. Smaller, more remote and less built-up than Malta itself, it is a popular destination to sightsee, enjoy nature and slow down. There is something for everyone on the sun-drenched, warm-hearted eco-island of Gozo. If Odysseus arrived today, he would find it even harder to leave.
