In April this year, in collaboration with our DMC partner VAOVA Travel and PROCOLOMBIA, I (Raymon Honings) went on an 8-day FAM-trip throughout the country of Colombia!
Bogotá & Cartagena
Together with a lovely group, we started our journey in Bogotá, where we had site visits, enjoyed a delicious dinner at Flora, took a colorful Downtown City Tour and more.
After leaving Bogotá behind, our group continued on to the ‘Jewel of the Caribbean’: Cartagena. This gorgeous destination offered us the chance to sail in Cartagena Bay and experience an African heritage celebration. We embarked on a fishing trip through the mangroves, participated in a Caribbean cooking class, explored the walled city and ended the day with a Caribbean vibes celebration!
Medellín
We spent our final days in Medellín, a city known for its tasty coffee, intriguing history and vibrant street art. We searched for our own coffee beans and found a local Farm to process into delicious coffee tastings. The next day, we explored Medellín, admired and created graffiti art and took part in a tech activity to learn about innovation and social impact in the city and throughout Colombia. All in all, it was an inspiring end to the journey, in which we witnessed Medellín’s transformation from a turbulent city into a resilient and developing metropolis.
