The end of February this year, Raymon was blessed to join a FAM trip to Africa, together with a group of Dutch buyers and travel agents. Their destination this time: the Victoria Falls, in collaboration with our DMC partner Diamond Travel. Read all about Raymon’s amazing experiences during this FAM-trip!
Day 1 | Departure and arrival at Victoria Falls
Our adventure began in Sandton (Johannesburg), where we departed for a flight to Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe). Upon arrival at the Victoria Falls Airport (VFA), we were greeted with our double-entry visas for the days ahead. To top it off, we were introduced to our wonderful guide, Messias—our guardian angel for this trip—who, along with Carmen from DMC Diamond Travel, had arranged every detail of our journey. We checked in at the Radisson Hotel (Zambia), where the warm welcome and refreshing drinks set the tone for our stay. After a short rest, we headed off to the town of Avani for a delightful dinner to kick-off the trip.

Day 2 | Chobe National Park, Botswana
The next morning, we crossed the Kazungula Bridge to Botswana, bound for Chobe National Park. Along the way, we stopped at the charming Mowana Lodge, where we embarked on a 3-hour boat safari on the Botswana side of the Chobe River. The wildlife sightings were unforgettable. The evening ended on a high note with a wonderful dinner at Serondella Restaurant, reflecting on the day’s experiences.
Day 3 | Chobe National Park Safari and Victoria Falls
Our day began early at 6:00 AM with a thrilling 4×4 safari in Chobe National Park. After returning to the lodge for a hearty breakfast, we set off for the Zimbabwe side of Victoria Falls. We checked in at the iconic Victoria Falls Hotel, a place frequented by English royals during their visits to the former colonies. In the late afternoon, we visited the Stanley and Livingstone Private Game Reserve, where we had the privilege of seeing the protected rhino center, home to a successful breeding program for these magnificent creatures. The evening wrapped up with a unique dinner experience at a Boma Drum restaurant, where the group got to learn how to play the drums, adding a fun and cultural touch to the day.

Day 4 | Exploring the local hotels and hiking to Victoria Falls
Day four brought more exploration, as we inspected various local properties: from boutique hotels to larger accommodations. We were all pleasantly surprised by the quality and charm of the hotels in this region. Later, we embarked on a hike to the Victoria Falls UNESCO World Heritage site—a true highlight of our trip. The views were breathtaking: the roaring falls, the mist, the colors, and the sheer power of nature were awe-inspiring.
Although we visited Victoria Falls during the rainy season, the experience was still remarkable. The day ended with a stunning boat safari and dinner cruise. Cruising along the Zambezi River, we found ourselves on the Zambian side of the river while still viewing Botswana across the water. The journey felt like a continuous exploration of borders, cultures and landscapes.

A thrilling conclusion
The final morning offered a memorable experience: a helicopter tour over Victoria Falls. This aerial view of one of the world’s natural wonders was the perfect grand finale to our journey. Throughout this trip, we had the chance to witness so many incredible moments—majestic wildlife, thrilling activities (I’m still considering
a bungee jump for my bucket list!) and of course, the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls. Despite the heights of the falls bridge being a bit too much for me (I’ll have to start lower!), the adventure was unforgettable. A special thanks to Diamond Travel and Fotoreisshop.nl for their amazing photos, which will help us relive this extraordinary journey and share it with the MICE world!
