    Essaouira is about 2 hours by car from Marrakech. Since its foundation, it has remained a leading international trading port, linking Morocco and the Saharan hinterland to Europe and the rest of the world. You can walk around the city centre classified by Unesco and quickly spot the fishing port, where the fish market is located. Experience fresh fish from the grill or cooked to your liking. Every year at the end of June, the city hosts the Gnaoua festival celebrating Afro-Maghrebin rhythms.

    Mecca of the occidental world

    Cross the walls of the famous medina of Fez, recognized by UNESCO as an outstanding universal value. It is also considered the spiritual and cultural capital of Morocco. It is one of the world's largest and oldest urban pedestrian zones (car-free areas). It contains the University of al-Qarawiyyin which was founded in 857 and is the oldest continuously functioning institute of higher education in the world.
